It's been a lil' while

It's been a while since I've blogged last. So, I figured it's time for a lil' update.

I had Lasik done almost a month ago and it's been absolutely amazing ever since. I can finally see CLEARLY! I can't say it enough how amazing it is. I went for my last eye appointment last week and they said I have 20/20 vision again. WOW!

Jeremy and I still haven't sold our house. It's been on the market for 2 months now and no bites. It's a bit depressing. We do have a friend who is supposedly interested. We'll see... We put in an offer almost a month ago on a lot (to build a house) and it got accepted. **the picture to the right is what our house would look like...of course different paint/brick color** Come March 24th we'll have to decide if we want to put another contract in or just say forget being that we haven't sold our house yet. So, we'll see.... We're not sure what we're gonna do. It's kinda all riding on the friend that might be interested.
Cooper will be 6 months old on Sunday! He amazes me everyday! He's such a joy to be around! He's rolling all over the place! He still doesn't sleep through the night but I don't mind so much. He takes his bottle and then goes right back to sleep. He's getting so big....so fast!

Mom, Dad and Shawn are fine. They have Erika and Julyen living with them now so there is never a dull moment.
Erika could use all the good thoughts and prayers she can get. She's going through a tough time right now. I'm not going to go into detail but please pray for her and Julyen!

Look what I found.....

MY FEET!

Yup, he found his feet for the first time this past weekend. He grabs them all the time now.

He went on his first 4-wheeler ride with his Daddy too! I don't think he really knew what to think about the whole thing.

My happy baby!

He's getting really good at rolling over. Last night he woke me up at 11 to eat....guess where he was....on his tummy. Then Jeremy woke me up at 4 b/c he was on his tummy again. He can't quite figure out how to roll from his tummy to his back.

Here he is wrestling with his puppy dog.

4 month check-up

Cooper had his 4 month check-up today. He weighs 14 lbs. 1.0 oz. and he's 24 1/2 inches long. Dr. Mason said he looks GREAT! He does have a slight cold so we're gonna keep an eye on that. He was supposed to get his shots but being that he does have a cold she didn't want to give him his shots and then over the weekend get even more sick and us not be able to tell if it's the shots or him just getting more sick. So, he has an appt. next Friday for his shots.

Here's a quick funny story for ya....

With Cooper having this cold he's got a cough. Yesterday he had a bottle at about 5 a.m. Then around 6:15 I started to get him dressed. I got myself and him all dressed and ready to go when I went to pick him up off the changing table and he coughed.....next thing ya know.....BBBBBLLLLAAAAHHHHHH.....he vomitted all over himself and me. It was quite disgusting. I had it on my shirt, down my shirt, on my pants, in my hair, on the floor, on his clothes, down his shirt, etc. So, needless to say I had to start all over. Good thing I was running a bit ahead of schedule that morning.

KIDS.....GOTTA LOVE EM'!!!!!!

17 weeks old

Cooper will be 4 months old on the 22nd. He's growing up so fast.

I took these pictures this morning before I left for work. He has on his new outfit from his Memaw. So cute!

His poor lil' nose has been stuffed up so in every picture he has his mouth open. Still cute though!

Stupid lady

So, the builder turned down our offer. He saw "contingency" and said NOPE! I wish he would have countered back so at least we'd have an idea of what he'll accept and what he won't. But noooooo.... What really ticks me off is that J and I spoke with the builders realtor and asked her about a contingency and she said SEVERAL times it won't be a problem. If your house is built and you still haven't sold your house then you'll have a decision to make....pay 2 mortgages or we'll sell the house we built for you. So, basically she made it sound like a no lose situation. But, now that we put in an offer she's saying differently. If they do business that way I'm not sure we even want to go back with them when our house does sell.
Apparently there are 3 builders within this subdivision. One of them sells the same house plan except it's flip-flopped. And actually it's a little bit bigger. We're gonna see about going look at it. I think it may have been one of the houses that wasn't very far along when we went look at the houses in that subdivision.
So, looks like it's back to the drawing board.....
Oh, we do have another showing today. Maybe this will be the lucky one....who knows.

Birthdays & Houses

Today is mommas birthday! She's so funny. Yesterday I had a message on my cell phone while I was at work. I checked it and this is what I heard: Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Ticia, Happy Birthday to you!

Ok, for all of you who don't know Monday the 12th was NOT my birthday. My birthday is the 14th. I don't know what my mom was thinking. Especially since today is her birthday. Duh!

Anyway, so today is my moms birthday and tomorrow is mine. I'm going to see if I can leave work a lil' early or take a longer lunch so I can go pick mom up a cupcake and bring it to her at her work. I think that'll be a nice surprise. Tomorrow night Jeremy is taking me to Texas de Brazil ( http://www.texasdebrazil.com/ ). It ought to be nice.

Last night we put in an offer at Gateway Cove in Gonzales. They have until tomorrow at noon to respond. What a GREAT Birthday present that would be!!!! So, keep your fingers crossed for us. We put in an offer on a lot and for them to build the house. So, IF we do get the house we'll get to pick out everything. That'll be a lot of fun. Here's a picture of the houseplan.

We still haven't sold our house but the same person has come to look at it twice already and she's been asking lots of questions. So who knows. The new house wouldn't be built for about 4-6 months so we still have plenty of time to sell it. Our realtor doesn't think we have anything to worry about. Who knows.....I'll keep you all posted on what happens.

First showing

We have our first showing tonight! Our house has only been on the market for 4 days! IF (a BIG if) we were to sell it we still haven't agreed on a new house. Jeremy is still set on Gateway Cove. I'm thinking I have a champagne taste on a beer budget and I need to realize that! The faster I realize that the faster we can find a house. It's just SO hard, though. It's annoying. Well, I'll keep ya posted on how tonight goes. Gotta leave work a little early so I can go home and straighten the house up. Fun Fun!

House Hunting

Jeremy and I put our house on the market as of yesterday and have been looking for our perfect home. Ok, maybe not perfect but close to it. Now that we have Cooper we've definitely out grown the house we live in now. Not to mention when it comes time to put Cooper in school I'm not sending him to public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish. If we were to stay in Baton Rouge he would have to go to a private school.
I usually like looking for houses online. But, now that we've gotten serious about it....it's not that much fun anymore. Its very discouraging! In my opinion, I think Jeremy and I can afford a decent amount BUT what I think is decent obviously isn't the case. If you don't have AT LEAST $250,000 in Ascension Parish you don't get crap! And even with that $250,000 you get a teeny tiny yard. How is that right?
When we first started looking we came across this house in Harbor Crossing. It's a new subdivision in Prairieville. Prices aren't horrible but not what we want to spend. The house was perfect too! Wood floors, granite countertops, BEAUTIFUL kitchen, decent yard, etc.
Then we came across this new subdivision in Gonzales. I'm not crazy about the location (I'd like to be a bit closer to Baton Rouge), but VERY affordable. BUT....They won't come off the price any. If you want wood floors or anything extra you can ask the builder and he might possibly throw that in for you BUT, there are NO guarentees!
We just went look at a house that is about 3 years old and located in Geismar. I liked the location b/c it's closer to Baton Rouge. BUT....seems to be a whole lot of BUTS....the house needed quite a bit of work and in my opinion if I'm paying that kind of money I don't want to do a lot of work. It would have needed new paint, new carpet in bedrooms, new shower in master bedroom, etc. The whole reason we looked at that house is b/c our realtor was thinking it would have a fence, blinds, landscaping, etc. Whereas if we were to buy a new house we'd have to do all that. BUT (there's that but again) this house needed a fence on one side and had NO window treatments at all. So, therefore not saving us any money!
I just feel as though we don't have a lot of choices. Like I said I believe Jeremy and I can afford a decent amount. We're not at the low end but we're not at the high end....we're right in the middle. There's just not a lot in the middle. If there is it's in a horrible location.
With our house on the market I'm worried it'll sell and we won't have found anything. Jeremy is leaning towards Gateway Cove again BUT I'm just not 100% sold yet. Maybe I'm just being too picky! Who knows. I don't want to settle and I'm scared if we settle with Gateway Cove we'll find something better as our house is being built and that scares me.
AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!! I'm so STRESSED!

Cereal

Cooper's doctor said she typically likes to start with cereal at 4 months but we've decided to start experimenting with it now. Here's a few pictures:

Open wide!

Mommy, I'm not sure if I like this stuff!

Maybe it's not so bad.

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009

2009......WOW!
Seems like just yesterday it was the year 2000 and I was just graduating from high school. It's now 2009 and I'm a college graduate, happily married, great job, and have a new baby! What more could I ask for?
Jeremy and I have been married for almost 2 years (in March) but been together for 8 years. We'll both have been at our jobs for 3 years. Cooper will turn ONE this year. WOW! Seems like just yesterday I had him.
2009 is going to be a great year. Jeremy and I are in the process of looking into buying a new house. With Cooper we are busting at the seams. Actually we were busting at the seams BEFORE Cooper. It's just time. Not to mention we want to be in a good school district for when Cooper starts school. Baton Rouge is just not the place. We've actually found a neighborhood we like and a house plan. Now it's the not so fun part.....putting in an offer. How much do you offer, what do you ask for, blah blah blah. To be honest I wish I could skip that part and go straight to picking out colors/details. That's the fun part. Then we have the other not so fun part....selling our house. With selling our house comes cleaning the house. YUCK! I just can't get motivated. Feels like I clean one room and then something else gets dirty. Then I start another room and that room I cleaned already is dirty again. Very discouraging! But, we'll get it.... IF everything goes right and they accept the offer we put in and our house sells before our new house is built then we'll be moving in with Jeremy's brother. Not really looking forward to that. They have a 1 1/2 month old and we'll be coming in with a dog and a baby. REALLY STRESSFUL! But, hopefully everything will work out.
What can I say....let the fun begin. Bring it on 2009!
